JoJo Gnome Book Give away Post (please like and share)

JoJo Gnome is taking part in the Common Elf Games but he is not very sporty. By taking part in the games JoJo discovers he has hidden talents. Perfect picture book to read with 2-6 year olds. This is the book 3 in the JoJo Gnome series.

JoJo Gnome is drawn to GoMA

  • JoJo Gnome loved GoMA
  • "I'm bored"
  • "Why don't you do a painting"
  • "I can't draw"
  • "Everyone's an artist."
  • JoJo Gnome the artist.

One of the exhibitions currently at GoMA is ATELIER PUBLIC 2 which throws out to the public ‘An Invitation to Play”.  So they have a space and lots of stuff… cardboard, bubble wrap, sticky back plastic … and they invite kids and adults to create things and just well…play. The installation runs for 13 weeks finishing on 27th May and things will change and develop as it goes.

I was going just for a wee look at what was on show as part of Glasgow International Arts Festival but got no further than this wonderful space. So the 6 year olds and I got to work… I couldn’t help myself and had to do a wee JoJo story and added it into the mix (I used some JoJo business cards I had in my bag). This is such good fun. I am so glad I took up their invitation to play… I might just have to go back! I advise you to go along and play too no matter what age you are.

JoJo Gnome & the Commonwealth Games (JoJo Gnome Book 3) is out now in the amazon store.

Fun and Games

Strathblane Primary 1 compete in the Common Elf Games

I was luck enough to have Primary 1 at Camstradden School in Glasgow help me celebrate the launch of the latest in the JoJo Gnome book series JoJo Gnome & the Common Elf Games. We had a great storytelling session and then played some of our own games. The large dice proved especially popular (I wonder why?). My particular favourite was the berry throwing competition but paper berries had to be substituted for the real thing … don’t think the school janitor would have been too pleased otherwise. Fun times!

JoJo Gnome & the Common Elf Games is a picture book ideal for sharing with 3-6 year olds. Available to download from Amazon at £3.08.

Commonwealth Games

Things seem to be hotting up in Glasgow for the actual Commonwealth Games. They are looking for bloggers to be part of team14 to get news out there (apply here by 10th April)…so if you are going to be around in Glasgow for the games get in touch. I will be the blogging correspondent for the Common Elf Games and will keep you up to date with all news of gnomes, elves, fairies and hedgehogs who are competing! To find out what schools are doing around the Commonwealth to celebrate, check out Commonwealth Class… lots of good info and interesting reports. Not long to go now as on 14th April there will be just 100 days to go till the games start in Glasgow.

The Common Elf Games have begun!

I am delighted to be able to tell you that JoJo Gnome and the Common Elf Games is now published as an e-book in the Amazon store (£3.08). In JoJo’s garden there is much excitement about this event (even more than there is in Glasgow about the Commonwealth Games). However at the Common Elf Games there are a few events which won’t be making an appearance in our Glasgow games, like Berry Throwing, Mud Jumping and Paper Tearing … but perhaps they should reconsider as all are brilliant fun. A perfect story to share with 3-6 year olds.

Tearing it up with JoJo Gnome

Coming soon will be a video that Strathblane Primary School made with me to teach you how to join in the paper tearing fun (this is a Common Elf Games event)!   Primary 5 at the school will also be making some games of their own to share with their Primary 1 school mates. This is in preparation for June when they will be hosting a mini Common Elf Games at their school fayre. Great fun!
