JoJo Gnome’s Story Podcast for Teachers (audio only)

Welcome to JoJo Gnome Story Podcast teacher’s page.  Hopefully this will make it easier for you to use the podcasts as a listening resource in the classroom. The podcast came about because when I visited schools to do workshops many of the children couldn’t afford to buy my books. Many of these children were the ones who needed stories the most. So having a free podcast means children and families can now have access to stories featuring JoJo Gnome free of charge… so please direct parents and grandparents to the podcast too. You will find the current podcast here and there is an archive page too. Every podcast has its own page with further activities, pictures, films and other fun stuff. You can also find the podcasts on Spotify and Apple podcasts.

Use in Classroom

For easy use in classroom you can download each episode. Go to each episode page and use the download button on the player. Please subscribe to the podcast and leave a rating on apple podcasts. Thank you.

NEW – JoJo Gnome Story Podcast on YouTube (audio & pictures)

We have recently started sharing JoJo Gnome Story Podcasts on JoJo Gnome’s YouTube Channel. This delivers the same audio podcast but includes drawings and photographs. Some teachers and parents will find this a more convenient way to enjoy JoJo Gnome content. Subscribe to the channel so not to miss an episode.

Programme Structure – JoJo Gnome’s Story Podcast

In each programme there is a story and also a story starter. The story will cover a range of subjects that will fit into topic themes (see grids below). The story starter is designed to be finished by the children either orally, by writing or through drawings. The stories are based around my character called JoJo Gnome and his friends (storybooks are available to buy).

Suitable Age Groups

JoJo Gnome’s Story Podcast has been written for ages 3-6 therefore ideal for nursery and Primary 1. The story starter can be used further up the school especially as a resource to inspire creative writing. However I have found that during my visits to primary schools all children love JoJo Gnome!

Scottish Teachers

The podcast is made in Scotland and here is where it maps onto the Scottish curriculum (other curriculum maps coming soon).

Getting In Touch

I’m always happy to receive drawings from children and will include them on podcast pages where I can , send to jojognome@gmail.com. Also get in touch to get a shout out on the podcast.

I also do workshops in schools, more details on the workshop page. Please contact me directly for prices and availability. It is the workshops and the sale of books, which subsidise the podcast and allow it to be free of charge.

JoJo Gnome books are available to buy. Special deals with schools are available.
